A California Lawsuit alleges that millions of pounds of marijuana is being diverted to an underground market.

Filled by a California retail chain, the suit alleges that a flaw in the states regulatory system has allowed criminals to obtain control of legal distribution permits, which has rerouted millions of pounds of marijuana into the the illicit market.

The suit also alleges that state officials knew of this process and turned a “ blind eye.”

California’s state tax revenue is also alleged to have taken a financial hit that estimated to be over one hundred million dollars.

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration has declined to comment due to the status of this case.
