New Mexico begins to Accept Applications for Marijuana Business

by Travyan Suttle

Applications are now being accepted by the state of New Mexico for legal marijuana businesses.

A new set of rules implemented recently by New Mexico officials allows interested investors to submit applications through an online portal on their website.

After parties submit their application on the state's website, officials will have up to 90 days to form a decision on whether or not approval will be granted.

A poll was conducted by state back last October that found the majority of residents in New Mexico were indeed in favor of marijuana legalization.

According to the Cannabis Control Division, only 50 percent of marijuana licenses social equity standard guidelines, which means that an adequate amount of applicants can be expected to be denied.
