Rapid City Requiring Additional Licenses for Dispensaries

by Paul Byrd

Rapid City has issued the need for additional licenses for medical cannabis dispensaries. As of November 9th, dispensaries are required to have two additional provisional licenses. The new provisional licenses were issued to Rapid City Cannabis, Inc. and Black Hills Cannabis Care, LLC. The first license is was issued to Puffy’s LLC.

According to officials, a lottery will be conducted if it issues more than 15 licenses. This new move was established after the South Dakota Medical Cannabis Program started accepted applications for medical cannabis cards. Patients must first gain approval from their doctor, however. Once approved, a patient will be eligible to receive a card in the mail!
