Numerous celebrities, such as Canadian-born actor and comedian Seth Rogen and iconic West-Coast native hip-hop artist, Snoop Dogg, who garnered a reputation for smoking marijuana, have been investing profits working in businesses involved in the cannabis industry.
In February earlier this year, Seth Rogen took to social media to post an announcement on his Twitter account that he was to launch his Houseplant bred cannabis brand the following day (https://twitter.com/Sethrogen/status/1366211837256032256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1366211837256032256%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.celebstoner.com%2Fnews%2Fcelebstoner-news%2F2021%2F03%2F06%2Fseth-rogen-houseplant-cannabis-marijuana-brand-california%2F).
Back in 2019, Rogen and one of his close associates involved in movie production, Evan Goldberg, partnered up working with an Ontario-based company known as Canopy Growth upon the founding of Houseplant. On the first day of March, Rogen took to Twitter to promote products he’s selling from his brand and also that he admitted he enjoyed smoking, such as the Pancake Ice sativa strain. He further let his audience on social media know proudly that he held a visionary goal of having his own company being launched in the cannabis market 10 years prior and his dream came into fruition that day (“In the Houseplant”).
About a week after Rogen announced his cannabis brand launch on Twitter, he made a guest appearance to discuss with night show host Jimmy Kimmel on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ about his experience smoking various strands part of Houseplant and his future aspirations of selling products to different places such as the U.K. Acting notably laid-back and engaging in bursts of laughter in between talking, Rogen reflects on his accomplishment officially operating his own brand in his ideal market to launch his company in, as well as his lifestyle accommodations after opening Houseplant, during his interview with Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel demonstrates on-camera, with Rogen’s help, setting up one of Houseplant’s ceramic-made ashtrays and lighters used while smoking and Rogen further shares his reasoning, which he explains is from personal experience, for selling the product.
